Fellowship Part II: TBA Day 1

September 10th, 2014

Im in PORTLAND! Im here for the Time-Based Art Festival, organized by the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art. I’ve heard so many good things about this festival over the years, Im really stoked to finally get to see it. Today was my first full day, and was mostly lost to organization and orientation. I did manage to make it to an art opening and eat Jambalaya though, bonus. I rented a road bike for 9 days for $150. Its the perfect transportation for this city. I also acquired my super spiffy TBA Patron Pass which has a G.D. HOLOGRAM ON IT! Whaaaaaat? Sh*t is fancy. Im fancy now. Im staying in NE Portland, not to far from Alberta St, which is very fashionable I gather. Actually most of this city seems pretty “hip” if you will. Not too much un-hip stuff going on here. Homelessness, and lots of it- thats one thing I have noticed thats not hip thats happening here, but ya know, if not for that it’d actually be scarily utopian. I have a bunch of things Im seeing tomorrow, so I will have much more to report on in the coming days.
